14 Days the Royal Safari
A grand 14-day journey across Kenya, blending beach relaxation in Mombasa with an epic safari circuit through Tsavo, Amboseli, Aberdares, Samburu, the Rift Valley lakes, and the legendary Masai Mara. Experience dramatic landscapes, rare wildlife, the Big Five, and unforgettable moments from Kilimanjaro’s foothills to flamingo-filled lakes and classic savannahs.
Daily Breakdown
Arrive at Mombasa Moi International Airport. Meet and greet at the airport. Transfer to the beach hotel. Stay on half board basis
Depart at 08.00hrs driving via the beach line of Mombasa and the palm trees along the road to the Tsavo West National Park. After noon, game viewing in this largest game sanctuary in the world, when combined with Tsavo East and Chyulu hills.
Proceed to the Amboseli national park situated at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. After noon, game viewing in search of the African Elephants, under the shadows of Africa’s highest Mt. Kilimanjaro.
A full day is spent, with picnic lunch boxes, in search of the BIG FIVE.
After breakfast proceed to Aberdares national park passing via Nairobi – the City in Green, and the rich tea and coffee plantations. Relax at a tree hotel and wait for the game to be seen near the
water-hole opposite the lodge for drinking water.
Proceed to Samburu game reserve driving via the Equator line, for game not seen in any other parks and reserves of Kenya such as the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich etc.
A full day is spent in exploring this reserve in search of the most common predator – the Leopard, and other Northern species.
Drive through the Northern tip of the Aberdares Mountain and arrive at the Mt. Kenya Safari Club for relaxation and optional activities such as Golf etc
Descend into the Great Rift Valley and pass via the renowned Thomsons Falls to the L. Nakuru National Park. After noon, game viewing in search of the Black and White Rhinos, together with other members of the wildlife and birdlife.
Drive further northwards towards the desert part of Kenya to Baringo. After noon, boat ride around the different islands of Baringo and view the Hippopotamus and crocodiles whilst feeding the Fish Eagle.
Depart late morning and drive via L. Elementaita to L. Naivasha. After noon, a walk to see the Zebras, Thomsons Gazelles, Giraffes etc. on the scenic Crescent Island.
Proceed to Masai Mara game reserve driving past the Masai town known as Narok. After noon, game viewing in this premier game reserve of Kenya.
A full day is spent, with picnic lunch boxes, in search of the BIG FIVE and some of the most
famous members of the wildlife.
Early morning game viewing. Depart mid-morning from Masai Mara arriving in Nairobi by late afternoon. Transfer to the Railway Station for evening train to Mombasa if required, or to Nairobi International Airport, whichever is applicable.
