Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala - Kibale National Park (approx. 5 hours’ drive)

Depart Kampala post breakfast for the fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and the thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park just under the Ruwenzori Mountains. 

Afternoon guided walk in the crater lake area of the park. 

Meals and overnight at budget facility. Full Board (FB) 

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale - Queen Elizabeth (approx. 3 hours’ drive)

Post a scrumptious breakfast, transfer to Kibale headquarters for briefing before setting off for a forest walk in search of chimpanzees. 

The forest walk will be guided, providing in-depth information on chimpanzees and other inhabitants. 

The walk will reward you with viewing of other primates including Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus Monkeys and Red-tailed Monkeys. 

After Chimp trekking, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park in time for an evening two-hour boat cruise along the popular Kazinga channel known for its possession of Hippos, Buffalos, Kobs, Elephants, Warthogs, Bird Watching etc.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth - Bwindi (approx. 6 hours’ drive)

Enjoy an early Morning game drive along Kasenyi, encountering diverse wildlife including Elephants, Buffalos, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Ugandan Kobs and much more. The breath-taking lakes and bird species only top up this beauty. 

Thereafter, drive through the Ishasha Sector taking you through the unique Western Rift Valley Escarpment.

If time permits, take a mini game drive in Ishasha sector in search of tree climbing Lions, before proceeding to Bwindi Forest National Park.

Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla Habituation Experience

After breakfast, gear up for trekking which begins at 8:00 am with briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). Ensure to carry with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, lunch box, and jungle boots.  

The trekking may take between 2 to 6 hours, but it’s well worth the effort! 

Day 5: Bwindi – Kampala/Entebbe out (10 hours’ drive)

Return to Kampala, then Entebbe via Mbarara to Igongo Cultural Village to explore the lifestyle of the Ankole and Bahima people. With lunch enroute and a stopover at the Ugandan equator, proceed to your evening departure back home.
